                  THURSDAY  11/25/21 1:30PM-I don’t think Linda mentioned my name to her son Jonathan when going through the list of people that are going to be here for Thanksgiving dinner… it’s going to be a long LONG afternoon… for starters, Mike- is apparently watching Seinfeld even though he’s not actually watching it right this minute – I can’t stand Seinfeld…
1:44PM-Deborah’s dog seems to be warming up to me a little…I’ll take what I can get…the other dog she brought with her? Not yet…1:56PM-Mike wants to watch Seinfeld-I would rather watch Dirty Dancing…oh well…and suddenly Deborah’s dog is afraid of me again…or not, I have no idea…
2:25PM-I don’t think we’re eating until 5:00-yikes…I’m gonna go crazy…and now Mike and Joey wanna watch a football game-oh boy, I’m REALLY gonna go nuts…
2:34PM-apparently I was supposed to bring my guitar…I’m glad I didn’t know that…
3:57PM-went downstairs to what has been Linda‘s office, where the spare TV is, among other things… There’s a sofa; I got a few winks
4:39PM-I’m actually getting hungry…I think we’ll be eating by about 5PM…I’m guessing we won’t get back home until about Eight o’clock…can hardly wait…
7:49PM--we got home about an hour ago...Dianne went to bed...I WANT to, but it's too early...gonna try to make it to 10PM...
8:08PM--THE WIZARD OF OZ started about 20 minutes ago and ends at 10PM--that's when I'll go to bed...
8:45PM--I think Dianne might be coming back down here, so no more WIZARD OF OZ. darn it...I really don't wanna watch another minute of Gray's Anatomy...
8:53PM--actually, she hasn't suggested changing the channel yet, so...I took my green pills...I think they'll kick in at just about 10PM or so...
FRIDAY 11/26/21 11AM--as far as *I* know, SueEl and I are still having Lunch at McD's at 11:30, so I'm leaving shortly...
1:53PM--just got back from Lunch...it was fun...We all learned a fair amount about each other...the trick is to remember it all...I guess I should do more laundry...maybe after my nap...
5:06PM--or maybe not...just got up from my nap...don't feel like doing anything...I think I'm having Chinese for dinner--lemon chicken...no plans for this evening, I think we're going to Annapolis tomorrow, or Sunday--I don't remember...
6:21PM--I think it's tomorrow....If we didn't go, I'd be ok with that decision...maybe it's NOT because of the booster shot that I feel like this...I have no idea...I just wonder how long this feeling will last...

                   MONDAY 11/22/21 6:52PM--today I got a citation for ignoring a school bus' STOP sign...I don't remember that, but, using my Best Buy card, I paid the $250 (!) bucks...great way to start the week, innit?
TUESDAY 11/23/21 1:10PM--slowly but surely getting ready for the cleaning group, who are supposedly coming tomorrow...technically, I've got until bedtime tonight to get things done...I do think it's gonna take that long to finish everything...
5:35PM--I just got selected to take Alvin to a Doctor's appointment...I have to cancel MY apointment to get my booster shot...ugh...I think it's gonna be a LONG morning...hopefully there will be a change of plan...there IS a shuttle service for residents, but Alvin (and Janet?) refuse to use it--*I* dunno why...
WEDNESDAY 11/24/21 9:13AM-we made it to Alvin’s doctor appointment!!! Dianne helped with navigation…
11:35AM--back from Riderwood...stopped off at Potomac Care Pharmacy and got my booster shot...Thanks to the Universe the cleaners have come and gone!!! Gonna finish Lunch and hit the sack...
5:06PM--eating schedule all screwed up, sleep schedule too...
6:52PM--I really don't think I can make it past 10PM this evening...it's not quite 7PM, but it feels like 10PM already...The only things I have to do tomorrow morning is go to the Bank and get $87 bucks, and put gas in Dianne's car...oops--and go to Safeway and get milk...
9;19PM--I'm not sure when we're going to Linda's for Thanksgiving...I think it's around 1PM...time enough to get some things done in the morning...as for now, I'm pretty sure I'll be in bed quite a bit before 11PM...I took two green pills at a little past 8:30PM...

              SUNDAY 11/21/21 8:55AM--I 've been wondering for quite awhile if  Zen Coloring was sending me repeats of earlier "Daily Mandalas"...some of them looked very familiar...Thanx to Flakebook I now know that they do...thanx to the "Memories" section of FB,which showed me what happened a year ago...the mandala that I've just started is one that I posted exactly one year ago...I find that a teeny bit annoying for some reason...oh well...we're leaving for Riderwood at 9:30...I will just abut have time to wash my hair--a full shower will have to wait...I'd like to shave my face, but I dunno if I have time for that...
9:40–I had time…we’re on our way to Riderwood; hopefully we’ll be home by 3:30 more or less…five hours….oh boy…
10:32AM-and Dianne wants to go to Unique after brunch w/ her parents…to my surprise the Carpenters bio is really a Carpenters Encyclopedia…way more information than I expected…it’s gonna take several days to finish…probably gonna have a snack from CVS to hold me until dinner time…
1:33PM-I think we’re going to the Unique x 2, which means there’s probably no CVS nearby for me to buy anything from…I need milk and soda…
2:12PM-it turns out there was both a CVS and a Safeway next to Value Village, so now I have soda and milk… I hope the milk doesn’t spoil before I get it home; it’s not as cold right now as it was a few hours ago, in fact it’s in the low 50s I think…
2:44PM-we might be home by four o’clock…
3:18PM-or  four thirty…
5:54PM--so it was about four twenty when we got home...the nap lasted (surprise!) about an hour, like they all seem to these days...I guess the milk is OK; I'll find out eventually...will likely have mac&cheese for dinner, whether I really want to or not...
MONDAY 11/22/21 10:50AM--I've got at least one Gov't Project to take care of before the cleaners get here on Wednesday...gotta move a shelf from the living room to the basement...I THINK the only safe way to do it is go out the front door and around to the "back yard"...I'm hoping for sunnier, warmer weather...we'll see...
11:14AM--I gambled...I took the shelves thru the dining room and down to the basement--without incident...and I thank the Universe for that...

        THURSDAY 11/18/21 10:48AM- having "brunch" with SueEl...at first I didn't have to pick her up--and I was kinda looking forward to that...but I just heard from her and of course I have to go get her...I dunno why there was a change of plan...
4:20PM--had a pleasant enough time at McD's with SueEl...we might be going to Willows on Tuesday (or is it Thursday?) if for no other reason to help try to keep the open mic from dying...
9:30PM--nothing much going on as far as *I* know, not until the weekend...
FRIDAY11/19/21 4:02PM--went to Safeway and to pick up Dianne's medicine...my day is over...having a mini pizza for dinner...
5PM--looking forward to bedtime--about seven hours away...
5:50PM-but first I went to Safeway and turned my saved coins into Amazon money… I want to buy a biography about the Carpenters; I don’t know for sure, but I think it’s gonna take a few days to read it…
11:27PM--there's a Gov't Project on the schedule for Saturday--raking the leaves...I got outta one G.P. earlier today...Dianne put her bedroom curtains up by herself-that made me very happy...thank you Universe...Dunno what's gonna happen tomorrow--raking leaves felt like work when I was young and relatively healthy, and I'm neither of those things now...kinda worried...
SATURDAY 11/20/21 2:33PM--the Gov't Project might be on hold until Monday--I'n fine with that because I feel "oogy" for some reason..my nap lasted from about 11:30 until roughly 1:30...now I'm having ONE sandwich for (a VERY late) Lunch...I dunno for sure, but I might be having sandwiches for Dinner...after which I won't have any bread of my own...we're waiting to hear from Fizgerald's, who are still apparently working on Dianne's car..4:40PM--ten minutes before they closed, Fitzgerald called; the car is ready...after I left Fitz, I went to the bank to get some cash...then I went to Wendy's...maybe that was mistake--I wasn't planning on having Dinner until at least 5:30 or so....maybe I can consider the fries to be the appetizer...
10:03PM--I took two of the green capsules a few minutes ago...hope to be in bed before Midnight...

           TUESDAY 11/16/21 7:30PM--went to the doctor's today...I remembered to skip breakfast, for the blood draw...I wish they had told me they wanted a urine sample--but they didn't...they did an ultrasound on my legs, dunno when I'll learn the results...
                 WEDNESDAY 11/17/21 11:19AM--I don't think I have anything to do but go to the Doctor's with Dianne...I'm hoping my being with her will help her relax...it could be a super important visit for her...I'm hoping for the best...otherwise, I don't think I have any other commitments today...and that's OK by me...
1:09PM-Except that Dianne wants to go to Unique…I don’t…it depends on what time we get outta the Doctor’s office…I probably shouldn’t be, but I’m tired and/ or sleepy NOW…
2:15 PM-it’s been an hour and she hasn’t come out yet…I REALLY don’t wanna go anywhere but home…I hope that by the time she gets out, she’ll feel the same way…
2:45PM-still no sign of her, and it’s been 90 minutes so far…the situation must be very serious… it figures, here she comes…I think-or not; they did an ultrasound…she texted me to let me know…she hasn’t come out yet. About one hour and forty-five minutes since she went down the hall…
3:26PM-we did not go to Unique  but we did stop off at Harris Teeter…I don’t think we’ll be home before 4 o’clock – and that sucks if you ask me… I have GOT to take some kinda nap when we get home… but before I do that I might have some thing to eat, like a half a sandwich…
 5:26PM--I didn't eat anything except half a bag of potato chips Dianne got me...and the "some kinda nap" lasted about thirty minutes...I tried to have hot dogs wrapped in sharp cheddar cheese, but it didn't turn out the way I had hoped...oh well...

It’s like having half a weekend

 

        SUNDAY 11/14/21 8:55PM-Sunday used to be the day that Dianne and I would do next to nothing…but now Sunday has become almost as busy as Saturdays and so it feels like I didn’t have a weekend… I  THINK I have an appointment with my med therapist – the third one so far…
 9:25AM--the virtual  meeting went well enough...from a technical standpoint, everything worked!!! and the omelet I made for breakfast came out looking kinda cute--that's the only word I can come with...

TUESDAY11//16/21 10:30AM-at the doctors office-waiting to give them some blood…might be home by 12:30 or so…gonna be fairly hungry by the time I leave to go home…I’ll go to Giant later, after my nap…

8:19PM-I came home from the doctors office, had my lunch and took a nap… at approximately 3 PM I went to Giant Food and got some groceries… I don’t know for sure but I could be in bed before midnight…

           WEDNESDAY 11/10/21 9:44AM--I'm in Gaithersburg, more or less ready to go see the Doctor; I can't wait to get back to Dianne's...
            1:03PM--I thought I brought enuff ingredients to make a normal Lunch...Boy was *I* wrong...at least I can have a Klondike bar for dessert, somewhere around 1:30 or so...now that the Docors appointment is in the past, I think I can look forward to playing  somewhere tomorrow night...
4:31PM-I’m back in Rockville… And this is where I will likely be until mid-day tomorrow 2 to 3 o’clock…Yoshi is getting an unusually early Dinner…
7:45PM-I was kind of hoping to stay up late enough to watch Star Trek, but I’m having trouble staying awake now and it’s not even eight o’clock…
THURSDAY 11/11/21 9:23AM-well, it’s almost 9:30 and I’m spending the last couple of hours here in Rockville before I go home to Gburg…a lot of the stuff I’m supposed to do before I leave has already been done; I think the only thing left to do is the kitty litter; Yoshi will be fed at 3:30, which is an hour and a half early… Sometimes you just Gotta do what you Gotta do… I hope to be back in GBurg by 4 o’clock. The cleaning people are getting started now, so they will be long gone by the time I get there..
10:23AM-I'...ve been doing the closeout procedures a little at a time… Not really looking forward to doing the kitty litter, I might just do it now and get it over with…
10:49AM-and that’s exactly what I did… Now the only thing I have left to do is pack the clothing and the guitar and the food… All of that shouldn’t take but about 20 minutes, more or less…
FRIDAY 11/12/21 10:32AM--back in Gburg, hallelujah...planning on going to Giant after my nap...dunno what I've having for Dinner...my first choice? fettucine alfredo...tomorrow? meatloaf  I think...
4:08PM--back from shopping, nothing going on tonight as far as *I* know...and that's OK...
SATURDAY 11/13/21 9:08AM--off to hang out with her parents...I think we're going to Best Buy; that's a little bit of fun I think... then Dianne and I are going to Unique Thrift--just not the one we usually go to...I'd like to be home by 2:30...gonna keep my fingers crossed...
11:23AM-I’ll be lucky if we make it home by 3:30… correction- make that 5:30…or 6:30
2:47PM- on our way home-Finally
6:10PM--got home at about three thirty...got a ninety minute nap...
10PM--not gonna go to bed THIS early, although Dianne did...gonna watch ST-OS, even though it's not one of my favorite episodes...I have to keep telling myself it's Saturday, NOT Sunday...
SUNDAY 11/14/24 10:42AM--now it's Sunday, and I dunno what I'm doing today...We might be going to Unique and/or having an early dinner with Mike and Linda...I'd actually like to skip that early dinner if I can...we'll see...
7:35PM--Di and I went to dinner in Rockville with Mike and Linda...had spaghetti and meatballs...brought some of it back home...

         TUESDAY 10/9/21 10PM-I’m starting to have trouble keeping my eyes open; I think it would be a mistake to go to bed this early and in fact I was hoping to make it to Midnight at least…

Not enough money

 

      SATURDAY 11/6/21 5PM-for what I just went through in the past half hour or more just to be able to watch Star Wars on television isn’t even worth the $200 I’m getting for this housesitting job… and I fell down again… It’s gonna be a long five days…
10:19PM-I thought Dianne and I were going to Kohl’s tomorrow, after her lunch with a friend…but now I’m not so sure…I’m pretty tired but I don’t wanna go to bed too early… I don’t want to go to bed too early, as tired as I am, which is VERY… in fact I’m going to try and stay up as late as I can… The first item on my shopping list for tomorrow just might be a bag of ice…
SUNDAY 11/7/21 10:42AM-I just talked to Dianne a little while ago via text… I can’t use the phone here in “the cave” because  there’s no reception…I think we’re going to go to Kohl’s sometime this afternoon, probably around 2 o’clock or so… Unless she cancels, which would be OK with me…
MONDAY 11/8/21 12:27PM-I'm in Gburg for the time being...already did the kitty litter...hope to put away the clean dishes....I actually WANT to take a shower before I go back to Rville to feed the cat, but after my attempted nap..
TUESDAY 11/9/21 9:48AM-I have no idea whatsoever why, but the TV in the cave is no longer working properly… So, nervously, I went upstairs to wrestle with technology there-I haven’t had much luck with the upstairs TV in the past, which is why I went down to the “cave” in the first place… But everything seems to be working now…thank you universe;
|            I think I’ve worked out my dinner for this evening; I plan on having a mini pizza… In other food news the half a dozen or so Klondike bars in the downstairs freezer I THINK belong to me… hopefully I won’t eat all of them but I’m planning on having some of them; they are marked no sugar added which is the kind that I usually buy… On the other hand Mike- and Linda seem to be on some sort of health kick to some degree; so I’ll  just wing it…
10:07AM-I don’t have room for a full gallon of milk in the upstairs fridge but I still have the half gallon container so I poured some milk into that and I’m keeping THAT in the fridge upstairs while I put the gallon in the fridge downstairs – did you get all that?
11:00AM-after pretty much being in the dark with regards to what channels are available to me, I found the channel lineup when I Googled it… Hopefully I won’t delete that, but if I do I can Google it again I suppose – frankly I consider it a rather inspired idea…for me at least…
3:46PM-watching TV is a heck of a lot easier when you have a channel guide at your disposal… I may have changed my plans for dinner tonight; I still have hotdogs to eat…Might even make a cheese and hotdog sandwich…
4:13PM-there’s enough stuff on TV to last until 8 o’clock…after that? Who knows?
5:16-about the only thing I can’t do here in Rockville is my “doodles”… I can only do those on the laptop and I left the laptop in Gaithersburg to see what it was like to live without one – it’s not that bad…
6:07PM-The “hotdogs covered with cheese” idea was a disaster… but ultimately it tasted good… perhaps tomorrow night will be Mini-Pizza Night…
7:08PM-It m just about now starting to miss being in G Burg and I can’t wait till I go home, sometime late afternoon  Thursday, after I feed Yoshi an early dinner

                         SATURDAY 11/6/21 8:30AM-It’s not quite 32° out here, but the roommate and I are at the Germantown flea market… there are very few dealers here right now and only a few shoppers… I can’t believe that I suggested we go to breakfast and then come back here after that; of course, getting a parking space will be tougher at that point assuming it is more crowded…
                      I don’t know why, but I’m a bit nervous about the housesitting gig in Rockville… A townhouse can seem pretty big when you’re alone in it; I’ll probably come back to Dianne’s during the day and do things, like the trash and the recyclables but otherwise who knows? I had hoped to have the David Crosby autobiography to read but I couldn’t find my copy… So I bought another one which could arrive as early as Tuesday… That would be nice. I think it only cost five bucks, I had some money on my gift card…
9:08AM-at this very minute, Dianne is making her way to the Kentlands farmers market… I was hoping we’d be having breakfast first but it’s not gonna work out that way…oh well. I will probably go to Linda‘s tonight with just the bare necessities, like clothes and food…I can come back tomorrow and pick up my guitar and other stuff, whatever stuff could be…
11:05AM-so now we are at the Fairgrounds flea market; I’m just chilling in the car, she’s the one doing the shopping… I don’t have the energy to look for a pair of gloves, so I’ll get them through Amazon probably… I don’t know when I’m going to have lunch but I know it’s going to be quite small…As for my nap, I could use one right now… I expect her to be gone another half hour at least…
11:57AM--she returned right after I typed that last sentence, naturally..
12:33PM--I plan onstarting the nap at about 1:00 or so....
4:48PM--I got a nap that lasted maybe about 90 minutes, oh well...
4:56PM--I guess Dianne WON'T be back home before I leave--in about five minutes or so...

      THURSDAY 11/4/21 6:09PM-Alzheimer’s dementia old age whatever you wanna call it has started with me… in fact I think it’s been going on a lot longer than I realize… I almost left the bag of groceries at the register.
FRIDAY11/5/21--  I finally got the two hypertension meds that I ran out of a few days ago… The side effect from that I think was  the headaches I’ve been getting… I’m not sure at this point if I’m going to look for another doctor or not; I think I should think about it a little – but not much… That’s one way to start the new year, with a new primary care physician...
5:32PM--I was starting to get a headache when I was laying in bed TRYING  to nap...so I got up and started prepping for the housesitting gig in Rockville...I think I'll be there for six nights...I have no idea how much I'm being paid; and it shouldn't doesn't matter, right?
9:30PM--just took the "Hydro", two hours or so before I go to bed...as far asI know Dianne and I are going to the G-town flea market...after that I dunno...

I DO like surprises--sometimes

 

          MONDAY 11/1/21 11:35AM--the SSA check came overnight; that was a surprise to me...It feels good having very nearly $900 in my account...but (not counting the Dianne money)$150 of it is spoken for...I'll likely write some checks tonight once Dianne goes upstairs and put 'em in the mail tomorrow...Almost forgot the $90 I pay to GEICO...
For Dinner I had one of those frozen dinners I sometimes buy, in this case the meatloaf...kinda surprised it seemed to come out better than usual...I topped it off with a little bit of apple sauce, so I feel quite full...gonna wait awhile before I have dessert...
TUESDAY 11/2/21 11:25AM--I made a pretty good omelet for breakfast; not as good looking as an iHOP omelette but just as delicious...then I went to Jersey Mike's to get a sub for Lunch AND Dinner...I'll eat dinner on the way to SueEl's--maybe...
WEDNESDAY 11/3/21 12:44AM-I went to an open mic about a mile away from where I used to live...I mention that here because I had another collapse incident...*I* think that was what The Universe threw at me to balance what happened last week...
12:13PM--got my rear left side brake light fixed (again?) and the "third eye" in the back window...And they put some air in the tires...I even paid some bills, just gotta drop one in the mailbox--tomorrow...
6PM--the day is not quite over, so bad things could still happen, but it's been a good day so far...
THURSDAY 11/4/21 9:10AM--I made an egg sandwich for the first time...it looks terrible, but tastes OK...someday soon I'll try (just) a fried egg...but first I have to go to the store and get more eggs...
10:42AM--I was gonna go out and do stuff at 11, but I don't have any clean jeans; they're all in the dryer...
9:54PM--it's kinda pathetic when ya almost pat yerself on the back for taking the trash out...
