Not a bad week so far – until NOW

 

               

                  FRIDAY 10/1/21 9:12AM-it’s been a good week up till now… I wiped out the past three or four days worth of diary entries (twice!)…I suppose the Universe is trying to tell me something…I just don’t know what that something is...
                 The cleaning people are coming today at approximately 1:30; that would normally be the start of my afternoon nap…But probably not today, and I think that’s going to make the trip home from tonight‘s gig a little more difficult… it’s about 45 minutes away, more or less; I see myself drinking some Dr Pepper at some point today, probably when I get to KH…and I just most of Dianne’s cereal on the floor…hoping I won’t have such problems once I leave, somewhere around 4 o’clock…I might take some kind of nap at 11:30-ish… when the cleaning ladies get here I have to go take some packages of Dianne’s to be returned somewhere…I’m considering skipping Lunch…except I won't have anything else to do while they clean the house...so maybe I'll get something from  McDonald's...or I'll go to the Library...
                       I think I’ll go to Wendy’s for dinner… if I’m careful, I can eat dinner on the way to KH…                   11:17AM--I think the living room is as ready for the cleaning people as it's gonna get; my room too...I'm going upstairs shortly...I HOPE to shower and shave before I leave for the gig, but if I don't have time, those things won't happen...oh well...the good news is that the equipment is mostly all packed in the car already...
NOON--something HUGE has come up...
SATURDAY 10/2/21 5PM--the "something HUGE" had to do with my Musical Life, which is (for the most part) covered elsewhere...early this morning, before I wanted to, Dianne and I went to the G-town flea market..It was before 8AM when we got there...I got a mint copy of Brian Wilson's autobio...I accidentally got the first twenty pages wet when I set the open book down on dew covered bench I was sitting on...f**k...oh well, the rest of the pages seem to be ok....she gave away the apothecary table that she was originally going to donate to somebody, we just couldn't figure out who..the idea was that if the Boy Scouts couldn't sell it, we would take it back...So as we were loading BACK into Dianne's car a woman expressed interest in it...the Scoutmasters had washed their hands of the whole matter, so the woman's two friends took it back OUT of Dianne's car and put it hers...we then went on to make a couple more stops, before getting back home...
         We have to get up at Dawn to go to Frederick for Dianne to get a Covid test...ugh...
MONDAY 10/4/21 10:04AM--Dianne's Covid test took a couple of minutes, we made a couple more stops, I attempted to catch up on the sleep I missed, but it was basically a two hour nap...I went and did TWO gigs in one day, and now I'm hoping to do nothing all day...and yeah, it feels like Sunday...

The same and not the same

 

             SATURDAY 9/25/21 11:00AM-hanging out with Dianne at what used to be called the Sugarloaf Crafts Festival… I think it’s just called the Gaithersburg Craft Festival nowl… It doesn’t matter what you call it, it looks about the same either way; Dianne bought some stuff and I gave her the idea of buying a housewarming gift for her sister… I think we’re almost finished, except for stopping off at LensCrafters; and then we will be going home – I think…
7:14PM--just got back from our visit with my niece, her hubby and their dog, somewhere in DC...it was a birthday party for their dog...a few of their  friends and their dogs attended...I'm having a free Potomac Pizza for dinner...hope to be in bed by 11:05PM, probably sooner...
SUNDAY 9/26/21 3:35PM--had brunch with the ex-in-laws...a pleasant enough experience...very shortly it will be nap time...so looking forward to that...
7:37PM--a nice nap, a good enough Dinner...dunno what else is happening tomorrow other than mowing the front lawn...
10:15PM--gotta go to the gas station across the street to (hopefully) get another copy of the sales reciept for Dianne's new tire...
MONDAY 9/27/21 12:17PM--haven't done it yet, dunno why...

it's the right thing to do

 

         FRIDAY 9/24/21 10:45AM--I made a date with Sue El, but I'm not really up to it...I'm gonna go thru with it because it's the right thing to do...I really hope I'm back home by 2PM...I could be in bed by 2:30 or so...still hoping to leave for BRIAN BORU by 5:30 or so...
1:57PM--lunch with SueEl was very nice, if a bit expensive...hoping to catch a few winks before I have Dinner, which will likely consist of that which I would normally have for Lunch...

is it Wednesday yet ?

                MONDAY  9/20 10:50AM-I’m hoping to get a haircut… I was hoping to get one a few minutes ago but the shop isn’t open until 11… then I have to go to CVS and straighten out my medicine situation… then I have to get the musical equipment out of the car that didn’t sell… There’s not that much of it, thankfully… The two tables might be a bigger hassle than the equipment itself…then I have to start drinking lots of water… in which case I can’t really leave the house, can I? I can’t wait to get back from my doctors appointment tomorrow, whenever that’s going to be…
9:31PM--trying not to go to bed THIS early...I gotta remember to NOT EAT BREAKFAST tomorrow morning...I might not get back home until two o'clock..the appointment is at 9:30AM...ugh...
TUESDAY 9/21/21 8:48AM--well, whatever's gonna happen at the Doctor's office will start happening in about 45 minutes...I'm bringing a book to read, hopefully one that won't make me sleepy...see ya later....
8:16PM-I arrived at the doctors office at just before 9:30 and was back home by 12:30 or so… now I can focus on sitting in with Ray tomorrow night in Annapolis… but first I have to take Dianne‘s car across the street to get a new tire installed… I have no idea how long THAT is going to take;
WEDNESDAY 9/22/21 9AM-I’m at the gas station, waiting for them to install the new tire on Dianne‘s car…They said it shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes, probably will only take 20 minutes…We’ll see… The weather could be better, considering I am driving to Annapolis later today… I don’t expect the sun to come out but I would like it if it doesn’t rain in any way shape or form…
THURSDAY 9/23/21 10AM-it drizzled all evening long and was drizzling when I came home… I got pulled over for speeding – I got a warning but, as it turns out, the driver side headlight was out… They’re working on it right now at the gas station across the street… THAT was a bit unplanned, but it’s best to get it done and over with… I think it’ll cost about 40 bucks… Time to get out the Best Buy Visa card…11AM-all done, except for the paperwork which has to be filled out by the guys at the gas station… And then I send it to the MVA or DMV or whatever they’re called these days and that should be the end of that…
11:10AM--headlight taken care of...later I'm gonna look for the speakers so Dianne can listen in on today's virtual Doctor's appointment...
3:56PM--the virtual appointment was a technical success and it was quite brief...Dianne heard the whole thing...everything looks good, but I need to exercize and lose weight...Fall weather is arriving, so I hope to go walking on a daily basis...baby steps at first, then further and/or faster...to celebrate a successful virtual Doctor visit, I will likely be going out after all...

I thought *I* had a problem with patience

 

        FRIDAY 9/17/21 1:08pm--the roomie is acting like a Parent...I don't think I need one at this point in time...THAT will elevate my blood pressure faster than anything else...like she has to know RIGHT NOW why the doctor is so concerned about the EKG he took...It's not like he said "You need to be in a hospital immediately!"--he DIDN'T say that...
        1:33PM--well, I wanted to be in bed by 2:30 (for my nap) and I think I will be...I'm not really looking forward to driving to Annapolis in the dark, but I can't do anything about that...
SUNDAY 9/19/21 10:16PM-my next visit to the Doctor is Tuesday and I'm already getting quite a bit nervous...I guess I'm gonna have to tell the Doctor about the problem with my legs...
MONDAY 9/20/21 4:17PM--a fairly typical Monday...I'm a bit behind on my water intake, but I think I can catch up...got my haircut today; it looks better than it did before, if not 100% what I had in Mind...now if I can only calm down...

          WEDNESDAY 9/15/21 8:49AM--the cleaning people are coming tomorrow, at about 9:30 or so...that's reason enough to get outta the house...gonna be fairly busy...buying a new tailight, seeing Yolanda, going to Litz to check their album prices...maybe by the time I'm done all that, they'll be gone...went to Safeway got almost everything on the list...except I forgot tonight's dinner...it figures...
9:25AM--I went to bed last night at about 2AM and (at the most) dozed off around 4AM...I woke up at about 7AM...naptime can't come soon enough...
12:13PM--didn't know I was outta baloney...didn't wanna make a THIRD trip to Safeway...
4:27PM--things were going really well until about 20 minutes ago...I might owe All Day Medical (if I got the name right) a lot of money, or I might not...but I MISSED an appointment I had TODAY..I'll try to re-schedule the appointment with Kelley...
4:46PM--just got off the phone...I now have an appointment TOMORROW AT 9AM with Kelley--in person...first good thing to happen in the past 45 minutes...
11:09PM--I'm feeling somewhat overwhelmed...I feel like there's a lot going on the next four days and it's causing me to be anxious...
11:21PM...I've been taking a certain pill every night which, among other things, helps me fall asleep...rather than take it in the middle of the night, I took it at about 9 o'clock...and I THINK it's starting to take effect...Gonna go to bed at Midnight if not sooner...
THURSDAY 9/16/21 11:50AM--the session with Yolanda went well enough except that I apparently forgot to turn the camera on...the earlier session with Kelley went well also...so far, it's been a very good day, for which I am very grateful...

and then there was Friday-ugh…I was  happy, but now? not so much…

things don't always go as planned

 

    THURSDAY 9/9/21 12:26PM-I dunno when or where, but I apparently ate something that doesn't agree with me...I hope I get over this problem by dinnertime...I'm not optimistic about that...I suppose it could also be because of stress...
      SATURDAY 9/11/21 11:24 AM-I’m out shopping with Dianne…I think we’re going to end up at Unique; I plan to buy a desirable book to read while I’m waiting for her to get her operation taken care of…The George Martin bio is difficult for me to focus on, unless I skip to the good parts…
             There doesn’t seem to be a Capital One bank nearby, so I will have to borrow $20 from Dianne if I want to buy so much as a bottle of soda… she only wants me to use a Capital One ATM because it’s free; I would rather spend a couple of bucks just to get the cash I desire… but I can’t say anything because, after all, I need a place to live…
12:43PM-It’s going to be a late lunch, wherever it’s going to be…
6:15PM--just finished mowing the front lawn...my nap ended about 45 minutes ago, so the actual mowing didn't take very long at all...I'm gonna attempt the trimming tomorrow...nervous about it, mowing (even using the grass catcher) was a cinch, trimming is something else altogether...
Dinner will be kinda similiar to Lunch--(fake) cheese and (fake) baloney...A hot meal seems like a bad idea to me at this point in time...
11:36PM--the downstairs toilet is seriously backed up...so far plunging has accomplished nothing...so I poured some liquid solution into the toilet, waited two hours (the minimum amount of time before I could try to flush) but nothing happened...I poured some more stuff in and will now wait until morning...come on Universe, help me out here...
SUNDAY 9/12/21 10:50AM-went to Giant, bought some stuff...forgot Klondike Bars...dunno what else I'm doing today...I've got a buncha things I need to do before the Hershey's flea market...it's a bit overwhelming...Looks like I won't get anything done until Tuesday...that's not so good...
MONDAY 9/13/21 8:24AM--waiting to take the roomie to have her procedure later this morning...I don't expect to be back home until about one o'clock, if not later...
9:36PM--we got home somewhere around THREE O'CLOCK...While I waited I went to Waffle House...after her procedure WE went to Waffle House.
TUESDAY 9/14/21 12:38PM- I didn’t know I was going to be so busy today… I was hoping to rest up and/or prepare for the open mic tonight, but all of a sudden I found myself doing stuff  that apparently needed to be done…counted my albums and separated them into specific categories…

A nice place to visit

 

       FRIDAY  9/3/21 7:45PM-we made it to Lancaster Pennsylvania… We got here about 3:30, settled into our room,rested and went to dinner at the restaurant that is connected to the hotel itself… there are a LOT of TV channels to choose from, but that doesn’t tell us what’s on the channels… Dianne is actually asleep already; whether she’s gonna sleep until morning, I have no idea…I doubt it… as for me, I’m going to take TWO of those green pills… I hope it doesn’t turn me into a zombie…I need to be awake for tomorrow’s adventures…
8:21PM-without any pills I might fall asleep at about 10PM, but for how LONG ? There’s nothing on TV-yet…hopefully there will be something on at 10PM…be it Bill Maher or FRIENDS…
SATURDAY-9/3/21 3:10 PM-shopping somewhere in rural PA., that is to say the ROOMIE is…*I* have had more than enough… I’m just sitting here chilling, watching the world go by..there MIGHT be books in THIS store, but I doubt it…and I’m too tired to care…
4:20PM-I think Google maps is really messed up… We are getting to where we want to go but in such a roundabout ways… Right now I think we’re in Bird in Hand Pennsylvania, but for all I know we might be in New Jersey…I think I’m going to sleep like a baby tonight…
9:21PM-had a good burger for dinner…now I’m watching FRIENDS, probably until Midnight…I’m gonna TRY to go to sleep sooner than that…hoping the pill I took will kick in before 11PM…
SUNDAY 9/5/21 10:36AM-well we made it to the Tanger Outlets…We will hit the other one next; they don’t open till 11 o’clock… it’s drizzling a little but nothing that’s bothering me – yet…
5:51PM--We got home at about 4PM...I got about an hour's worth of sleep...hopefully I'll get some more tonight...
8PM-I really don’t expect to be up past 11 PM… I’m going to watch the two episodes of Star Trek I recorded and then it’ll be 10 o’clock…after that who knows?
TUESDAY 9/7/21-The plan is to have lunch with Sue Ellen in a little while… Unfortunately she’s not ready yet, and I’m a little early… but I’m in the shade, so I’m ok… it’s not bad in the shade; I’m glad I’m not sitting in my car right now… I’m expecting to go to the Main Stage Grille, but I’m not completely sure about JVs or what I’m going to do on Thursday… there IS a challenge to going to three open mics in a row, but I’m not at all sure I’m up to that challenge…

          WEDNESDAY 9/1/21 8:10AM--the SSA check is (for the 2nd or 3rd time) early...I'm OK with that...I'm wrestling with the idea of not telling the roomie ...I THINK I'm just gonna take maybe $100 bucks to Lancaster on Friday...I might deal with my finances after today's nap, or (more likely) tomorrow...
2:25PM--I've really REALLY gotta stop being early for Dr.'s appointments...but finally, they got what they needed--a urine sample...and some bloosd as well...
   If only for a few minutes, the weather was pretty bad...it's supposed to be good tomorrow...I stopped at Giant got some food stuff and a buncha cash too..I didn't get everything on my shopping list--ya can't buy what they ain't got...I THINK/hope we have enough ice to last the rest of the day and all of Thursday...
9:46PM--not 100% sure I'm gonna make it to Midnight...I feel like I gotta LOTTA stuff to do tomorrow, even though I'm not sure what the "stuff" is..
THURSDAY 9/2/21 12:31PM--got most of the stuff done...gonna be a bit late getting to Hershey's...I'm (in my car) stopping off at Home Depot to watch the roomie buy a new fridge...after Dinner at Hershey's,which she'll go  home--in HER car..
11:10PM--now it's time to try to focus on the weekend ahead...I sure do hope I can get some sleep, say six hours, more or less....
FRIDAY 9/3/21 8:07AM--didn't sleep much last night...thinking about how I can make room in the basement for a small (?) sofa...there's the octagon table and the shorter shelf...I'd like to get rid of those...I just gotta figure out what to do with the stuff ON the shelf...
